乐师们:

Welcome, Nan Guo! We are happy to have you with us.
南郭先生:
Thank you! I will do my best to play for the king.
场景二:表演现场
旁白:
One day, King Xuan asked his musicians to perform together. All of them played their instruments beautifully. But Nan Guo did not play at all. He just stood there and pretended to be busy.
乐师们:

南郭先生:
(假装吹笛子,但没有声音)
Blow... blow... (假装努力)
旁白:
The king was very happy with the performance. He gave each musician a reward. But Nan Guo did not play any real music. He just pretended to be part of the group.
场景三:国王的询问
齐宣王:

Nan Guo, why did you not play during the performance?
南郭先生:
(紧张地)
I... I was too nervous. I didn’t feel confident enough.
齐宣王:
You should not hide behind others. Everyone must work hard and be honest.
南郭先生:
(低头认错)
I am sorry, Your Majesty. I was afraid to be discovered.
场景四:离开宫廷
旁白:
After that day, Nan Guo could no longer stay in the palace. He left the kingdom and never returned. From then on, he learned the importance of honesty and hard work.
南郭先生:
(独自走在路上,自言自语)
I should not pretend to be something I am not. I need to learn real skills.
旁白:
And so, the story of Nan Guo teaches us that we should not try to fool others. If we don’t know how to do something, we should study and improve ourselves instead of pretending.
